Following her float-out, Cruising Passion had the opportunity to photograph the ship from the outside, documenting her construction journey as she moved closer to entering service.

Now, NCL has provided a much clearer picture of what guests can expect once the ship enters service.

The latest announcement, released on August 19, 2026, focuses on three major areas — wellness, dining and entertainment — while also revealing further details about Ocean Heights, the ship’s expansive outdoor activity area.

And there is one detail that makes the story particularly interesting for Italian cruise travelers: Norwegian Aura’s first voyage will depart from Trieste on May 21, 2027.

Norwegian Aura: What NCL Has Revealed

Norwegian Aura is the newest evolution of NCL’s Prima Plus Class and will become the largest ship in Norwegian Cruise Line’s fleet to date.

The concept has grown from the popularity of Indian dishes already offered at Indulge Food Hall aboard the Prima Class ships.

Located on Deck 8, Tamara will combine traditional Indian culinary influences with an upscale contemporary setting inspired by the architecture and craftsmanship of North Indian temples and courtyards.

The restaurant will feature an open-view kitchen with prominent tandoor ovens.

Among the dishes highlighted by NCL are Short-Rib Dosa, Lamb Biryani and Green Papaya Salad.

This is an interesting strategic move for Norwegian Cruise Line.

Rather than simply adding another international restaurant to the ship, NCL is taking a cuisine that proved popular within an existing venue and elevating it into a dedicated specialty dining concept.

Another completely new concept aboard Norwegian Aura will be The Panorama Room.
